As far as we know, this makes the five-star establishment the first campsite in the German-speaking world to do so. <\/p>

Owner Katherin Kleingarn is therefore focusing on innovation:<\/p>

“Bitcoins are a legal digital payment option that simplifies the payment method. The transfer is usually processed within a few minutes from sender to recipient. More and more consumers have accumulated bitcoins and want to spend them in digital payment transactions,” explains the young entrepreneur, who took over the award-winning business from her mother last year. “Cryptocurrencies are one of the most important payment innovations of recent years. We are therefore delighted to be the first camping business to offer our guests this payment option.” <\/p>

Into the waves with Wallet…<\/h2>

To be able to pay for a real camping trip to the Baltic Sea beach virtually with cryptocurrency, you need a digital wallet on your smartphone or computer. This can be created easily and without any bureaucratic hurdles. <\/p>

“More than half of the bookings at Insel-Camp Fehmarn are made online – so it is only logical and forward-looking that we also want to offer new “digital payment methods” from now on,” explains Kleingarn. And, of course, she also believes that this could result in a whole new customer segment.<\/p>

Berlin spirit of innovation at the Fehmarn Island Camp<\/h2>

Hardly any other major European city currently has a comparable dynamic of new company start-ups as Berlin. What accounts for the innovative spirit of the start-up scene? And what does this have to do with an established, award-winning five-star campsite on Fehmarn? <\/p>

Katherin Kleingarn took over Insel-Camp Fehmarn from her mother Ellen Kleingarn in 2017 and started her new business with the incomparable Berlin spirit of innovation.<\/p>

Until then, she supported Berlin start-ups, including as Head of Human Resources, in the implementation of HR processes. As a self-confessed networker with high quality standards, empathetic consultant, mediator and coach, her guests, customers and employees are her main focus. <\/p>

International, young, dynamic, creative – with lots of vision and motivation to make a difference, she gets down to work. The attentive regular guest, big or small, can already recognize it after the first season: Katherin brings a young, dynamic flair to the sun-drenched Baltic Sea beach. To mark the handover of operations, Insel-Camp Fehmarn is now offering taster packages that can be booked online and paid for using Bitcoin, such as “Easter Days”, “May has arrived” and “Midsummer Nights”. <\/p>
